NOTICE OF ZONING MEETING
The Billings County Planning & Zoning Commission will hold a regular meeting on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at
1:00 PM in the Commissioner’s Room at the county courthouse, to consider recommending to the Board of
County Commissioners the approval or denial of the following items:
Applications:
2026-27 Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation: Application for a Major Subdivision west of the Little
Missouri River and the City of Medora in section 22-140-102. The plat for the Western Heritage Subdivision will
be reviewed, proposed districts include Recreational and Commercial Zoning. Property is within the ETZ of the
City of Medora.
2026-34 Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation: Application for timber frame signs at the entrances of The
Ranch at Bully Pulpit (3760 Bible Camp Rd) and Bully Pulpit Golf Course (3731 Bible Camp Rd) in section 10139-102. A Variance has been requested for the sign at Bully Pulpit Golf Course; the 17’ x 42’ sign is proposed to
be approximately 30’ within the county’s road right-of-way or about 77’ from the center of Bible Camp Road.
Property is zoned Recreational.
2026-39 John Schrock: Application for a temporary conditional use permit to allow a recreational vehicle as
temporary housing during the construction of a new home on Lots 1-2-3, Block 2, Franks Creek Subdivision
(2740 Green River Rd). Property is zoned Residential.
The board will also review any zoning applications submitted to the zoning department for projects within the
Medora Area Plan boundary prior to the final review and administrative approval by the zoning director at the
meeting.
Other business:
• Review regulations and zoning ordinances related to water depots that are used for supplying fresh water
during the drilling stages of oil and gas wells and make a recommendation for amending and adding a
new section under Article VI: Special Provisions 6.19 for Industrial Water Depots and Ponds.
• Review regulations and zoning ordinances related to data centers & battery energy storage systems.
