Every query, image, and coding assist traces back to a warehouse full of GPUs, a substation upgrade, a cooling loop, and a land parcel — and someone always signs off on that chain before the public hears about it.

That's the part we keep coming back to at GridWatch: the tradeoffs in this video aren't hypothetical, they're showing up right now in rate cases, water permits, and county commission agendas across the country. When a hyperscaler asks for gigawatts of new load, utilities either build new generation and transmission or lean harder on the existing grid — and those costs don't stay contained to the data center's meter. Rural aquifers, agricultural land, and residential ratepayers absorb the spillover, often with far less say than the companies cutting the deals.
