That sounds like an engineering footnote, but it's really a supply chain and land-use story. Every one of those HDD racks needs floor space, power, and climate control, and "cost and density matter more than speed" is exactly the calculus that's driving hyperscalers to build ever-bigger warehouses in places that offered them tax breaks to do it.

The video frames this as a hardware trend, and it is, but it's worth asking what a projection like "80% of hyperscale storage through 2028" actually means on the ground: more square footage, more transformers, more water for cooling all that gear running 24/7.
