Approve minutes for May 26th, 2026
1. Amendment to the Hancock County Code of Ordinances
The amendment includes changes to §156.021 (Land Uses), §156.037 (Industrial
General (IG)), §156.040 (Establishment and General Standards for Overlay Districts),
and a new §156.048 (Data Center Overlay District (DC-OL)). The proposal would
affect land within the geographic area of the Plan Commission’s jurisdiction. The
amending language proposes a new definition of “Data Center” and would limit data
center projects to the Industrial General (IG) zoning district and institute additional
requirements for data centers located in IG through an Overlay District (currently,
data centers are included in the definition of Communications Service Exchange and
are permitted uses in the Institutional (IN), Industrial Business Park (IBP), Industrial
Light (IL), and Industrial General (IG) zoning districts and are a special exception
uses.
