NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO TITLE 15,
CHAPTER 156 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF HANCOCK COUNTY, INDIANA
All citizens of Hancock County, Indiana, are hereby notified that on May 26, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.,
a meeting will be held by the Hancock County Area Wide Plan Commission (“Plan Commission”)
at which a public hearing will take place regarding proposed amendments to §156.021 (Land
Uses), §156.037 (Industrial General (IG)), §156.040 (Establishment and General Standards for
Overlay Districts), and a new §156.048 (Data Center Overlay District (DC-OL)) to the Hancock
County Code of Ordinances. The amending language would limit data center projects to the
Industrial General (IG) zoning district and institute additional requirements for data centers located
in IG through an Overlay District. The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners’
Courtroom, Hancock County Annex, 111 American Place, Suite 101, Greenfield, IN 46140. At
said hearings, all interested parties may appear and be heard. Written objections that are filed
before the hearing, at the location stated below, will be considered. The hearing may be continued
from time to time as found necessary by the Plan Commission. A complete text of the proposed
ordinance is on file and available for examination and copying during regular business hours in
the office of the Hancock County Plan Commission located in the Hancock County Annex at 111
American Legion Place, Suite 146, Greenfield, Indiana.
Pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, any individual who wishes to attend said hearing,
but requires special accommodations to observe and/or participate in said public hearing are
requested to contact the Plan Commission at (317) 477-1134 or in person at 111 American Legion
Place, Suite 146, Greenfield, Indiana 46140 to request such accommodations.
