Meeting held in person at the Township Hall
CALL TO ORDER 6:00 PM

Connie Lincoln – Commissioner, Wayne Appleyard – Commissioner, Russ Grimes Secretary

APPROVAL OF AMENDED AGENDA
Motion by B. Frontiera to approve new business bullet C. spelling off Laura Watkins
Koelewijn name in submitted agenda. 2nd by G. Cripe, No discussion. Motion Carried.
APPROVAL of June 2026 MEETING MINUTES
Motion by B. Frontiera to approve the regular meeting minutes, 2nd by T. Curtis. No
discussion. Motion Carried.
BOARD REPRESENTATIVE REPORT
• T. Curtis presented verbal comments and explanations of items from previous
Norvell Township Board meetings.
ZONING ADMINISTRATOR REPORT
• Nothing to report.
ZBA REPRESENTATIVE REPORT
• At the last meeting there was a 3rd appeal for a lakefront property that was
presented for a house deviation, and it was granted.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
• No committee reports at this time.

a. Discussion of Data Centers -Ordinance Language Still Being Developed.

PUBLIC/COMMISSIONERS COMMENTS
a. Several residents presented their thoughts on the new potential gravel mine that
is being proposed by Levy which will be near the Watkins Lake Preserve.
Information provided was on other cases with other Michigan townships and
denials of gravel mine permits and Community citizen petition information.
b. One resident discussed their thoughts on the moratorium on data center permits
in the Township.
c. G. Cripe discussed putting together a subcommittee to discuss the development
of a farmland preservation ordinance.

• Motion by R. Grimes to adjourn, 2nd by B. Frontiera. No discussion. Motion Carried.
