MINUTES
SHERMAN TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION
MEETING
Monday July 13th 2026 @ 7:00p.m.
This meeting of the Sherman Township Planning Commission was called to order by Dan Volmering.
Pledge to the flag was said.
Roll Call: John Laeder, Dan Volmering, Marty Block, Robert Tenbusch and Mike Meissner were all
present.
Previous Meeting Minutes: John Laeder reviewed the previous meeting minutes. Mike Meissner made a
motion to accept the minutes as read, John Laeder supported the motion. All were in favor, motion
carried.
Public Comments: Nathan Mazure spoke briefly about blight issues within the township. He would like to
propose having police handle blight issues in the future.
Communications: Robert Tenbusch presented some information he obtained online about data centers.
It went over potential downfalls and benefits of the systems.
New Business: Reviewed a Data Center draft ordinance provided by John Laeder. Each member
received a copy and will review prior to next meeting.
Old Business:
Dan Volmering stated that we are currently waiting on the lawyer to finish revisions on the
updated ordinance.
Dan Volmering also mentioned that the updated master plan will be reviewed by board July 14 th
and if approved will have to schedule a public meeting.
Final Public Comments: None
Final Planning Commission Comments: Will continue to work on Data Center ordinance and bring any
new information to the next meeting.
Adjournment: Motion by Marty Block to adjourn at 8:56pm, and supported by Robert Tenbusch. All were
in favor, Motion carried.
Next meeting: Monday August 10th 2026 at 7:00pm at Sherman Township Hall
