5.I. Fall Hydrant Flushing Began September 8th
Waterford Township DPW will perform Fall hydrant flushing September 8th through
mid-October. Flushing is done between 4-8 pm, Monday through Thursday.
Customers may see brown water coming from their faucets and/or in their toilets. If
that happens, please flush the lines by running cold water in the bathtub or laundry
tub until it runs clear. Please contact the Waterford Township Department of Public
Works at 248-674-2278 with any questions or concerns.

5.II. Town Hall Meeting On The Police & Fire Millage Renewals
The Township will be hosting a moderated Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday,
September 16th, at 6:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Auditorium to discuss the Police and
Fire Millage Renewals that will appear on the November 3rd ballot. Residents will hear
a brief presentation from the panelists and have an opportunity to submit questions.
Questions may also be emailed in advance to [email protected] by
5:00 p.m. on September 15th. The meeting will be broadcast on Municipal Channel
20, and streamed live on the Township website.

5.III. Bat Hike At Drayton Plains Nature Center
Friday, September 18th join Six Rivers Land Conservancy at the Drayton Plains
Nature Center for a FREE guided twilight hike to discover the incredible world of bats.
Participants will have the chance to see echo meter detectors used in real time and
learn about the important role that bats play in our ecosystem. Hike starts at 7:30

5.IV. 35th Annual Walk And Roll For Waterford Meals On Wheels
Bring the family out Saturday, September 19th for the annual fundraising walk (and
roll) in support of Waterford's Meals on Wheels program! Just $30 for adults, kids
participate free with a registered adult. Free t-shirt with pre-registration, and lunch is
included. Check-in begins at 10:15am, and the walk & roll starts at 11am. This event
helps feed Waterford's homebound seniors more than 1,200 meals each week! Once
you participate, you'll want to make this an annual family tradition.

5.V. Extended Hours For Absent Voter Ballot Pickup Thursday, September 24th
Residents that have requested an absentee ballot may pick their ballot up on
Thursday, September 24th, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Clerk’s office. Photo
identification is required. You may check your absentee ballot status at
www.Michigan.gov/vote

Don’t miss the last three dates of Waterford’s Civic Center Campus Lunchtime Food

5.VII. Waterford Parks & Rec Leggett Campus Hosts Meet The Candidate
Join Waterford Parks and Recreation at the Leggett Campus 3621 Pontiac Lake Rd.
on Friday, September 25, 2026 from 1-3pm for Meet the Candidates. This is a casual
meet and greet with the candidates on your November ballot over coffee and cookies.

Join Waterford Parks & Recreation for a FREE Senior Health Expo on Friday, October
16, 2026, 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., at the Leggett Campus, 3621 Pontiac Lake Road.
There will be health screenings, valuable wellness information, community resources,
raffle prizes, and more! Boxed lunches will be available for purchase from 11:30 a.m.–
12:30 p.m. for $6.00.

Center Advisory Committee. Waterford’s boards, committees and commissions

play.
