Credit to 'science to technology' for taking a basic engineering question — why do cooling towers need a constant supply of fresh water instead of just recirculating what they've got — and making it accessible in Hindi. Evaporative cooling is genuinely how most large data centers keep their servers from cooking themselves, and understanding the physics is the first step to understanding the politics. Water evaporates, it carries heat away, and it doesn't come back. That's the whole trick, and it's also the whole problem.

Here's the part that videos like this rarely get to: every gallon that evaporates in a cooling tower is a gallon pulled from a local aquifer, reservoir, or municipal system, often in places already stretched thin. When a hyperscaler breaks ground, the engineering explains why they need water — but it doesn't explain who granted the permit, what rate they're paying compared to residential users, or whether the local utility board even disclosed the deal before it was signed.
