That's not an abstract 'AI footprint' problem, it's a line item on your municipal water budget, and it's usually decided in a permit meeting most residents never hear about until the pipes and pumps are already being installed.
Here's the part the segment doesn't have time to dig into: that water is often drawn from the same aquifers and treatment systems that supply drinking water, agriculture, and industry in the surrounding county. When a hyperscaler signs a deal for evaporative cooling capacity, somebody's utility rates, well levels, or drought contingency plans absorb the difference.
