But let's be clear about what this is: a vendor explaining its own operations in the best possible light. "Balancing resources responsibly" is a marketing line, not a metric. It tells you nothing about gallons per megawatt at a specific facility, what the water source is, or what happens to local supply during a drought month when a campus is running flat out.
The actual answers to those questions don't come from explainer videos — they come from state water rights filings, utility interconnection agreements, and county air/water permits, the same paper trail we track facility by facility. If Equinix or any other operator wants to prove sustainability, the move is publishing site-level water and power consumption, not a general-audience animation of how a cooling tower works.
