The Room That Never Turns Off: The Buildings That Power All AI In The World | π‘ COME HERE
The short version: A slick tour of the 'always-on' AI data center glosses over who pays for that constant hum: ratepayers, aquifers, and taxpayers footing the incentive bill.
Our Take
Factory Automation Verse gives viewers a glossy, almost reverent look at the server halls that never sleep β the physical engine room behind every AI query you send. It's a good visual primer on the scale of these buildings, but scale is exactly the part that deserves more scrutiny than a highlight reel usually gives it. A room that never turns off means a substation that never turns off, a chiller loop that never turns off, and a rate base that gets restructured to make sure it never turns off β whether or not the surrounding community asked for that.
What videos like this tend to skip is the paperwork: the tax abatements, the water permits, the transmission upgrades quietly socialized onto everyone else's utility bill. 'Powers all of AI in the world' is a hook, but somewhere behind that hook is a county commission that approved the deal, a utility that filed for cost recovery, and a well or river that now has new competition for its draw. None of that shows up in the render.
We'd rather you leave the video and go look at what's actually been approved near you. Check our facility map for the buildout happening in your backyard, and if you want to know how to weigh in before the next deal is signed, our take-action page is the place to start.
