Town of North Canaan
Planning and Zoning Board
August 10, 2026
Present: Chairman Mike O’Connor, Dalton Jacquier, Walt Schneider, Kaitlin Ohlinger, Brian Allyn Jr.

Call to order: Chairman O’Connor called the meeting to order at 7:02pm seated Mr. Allyn and welcomed
newly seated Kaitlyn Olingher.
Mr. Schneider moved to approved the minutes of the last meeting. Mr. Jacquier seconded the
motion. Motion carried.
Mr. Jacquier moved to amend the agenda to include changing the dates of 2 meetings. Mr.
Schneider seconded the motion. Motion carried.
ZEO Report: Zoning Officer George Martin read his report into record. There was a discussion of the
redemption center for Stop and Shop. It will be outside self-contained by the charging stations. Mr.
Marting required they get a permit.
New Business
Mr. Allyn moved to change the September meeting date from the 14th to the 15th and the November
meeting date from the 9th to the 10th. Mr. Jacquier seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Old Business:
Text Changes/Definitions: Summer is a difficult time for everyone. Mr. Martin has some adjustments to
the definitions that need to be expanded. Chairman O’Connor stated there will be a workshop in the fall
where the board can go through them line by line.
Public Comment: Jennifer Crane stated during the last Board of Selectman meeting there was mention
of the potential for an ordinance for data centers.
Mr. Jacquier moved to adjourn. Mr. Schneider seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 7:12pm
