d.

Discussion and possible motion extending bid letting date for the Maquoketa
YMCA Aquatic Park – Spray Pad Project to July 21, 2026 at 3:00 PM
City Manager Summary: The City of Maquoketa hosted a bid letting date on June 30th
which yielded no bid offers on the project. This obviously isn’t ideal but it is much better
than having a small amount of bid offers that may have been non-competitive/in-excess
of the Engineer’s estimate and put the City at a disadvantage binding the City to accepting
an offer. In this extension, the City will be reaching out to multiple preferred partners in
addition to the previous plan holders. The City’s Engineer on this project has interviewed
potential general contractors and several are excited to have this come up again as an
opportunity.
Council support is recommended.
