i. To consult with counsel to obtain legal advice regarding the Harford County
Circuit Court Case Number C-12-CV-26-000281 Town of Bel Air, Maryland vs.
121 South Bond Street LLC
ii. To consult with counsel to obtain legal advice regarding the Harford Circuit
Court Case Number: C-12-CV-25-001030 Harford County, Maryland vs. Town of
Bel Air, Maryland, et al and the request for extension of Hickory Flats building
permit.
iii. To discuss potential appointments to the vacant Town Administrator position.
c. Reasons for Closed-Session Discussion of Above Topics
i. Because public discussion of confidential information and legal strategies can
compromise the attorney-client privilege and inhibit the ability of the public
body to receive candid and uninhibited legal guidance.
ii. Because public discussion of candidates’ names, qualifications, experience, and
background could discourage people from applying for employment or
compromise their privacy rights.
