CITY MANAGER ’S REPORT
l
S a l e s T a x A g r e e m e n t - The ESD Board has executed the
sales tax agreement for TIRZ #6. The second agreement is
still pending as we work through the ESD ’s request for a 15 year lease requirement on one of the properties. I will
continue negotiating a more reasonable term and hope to
have this resolved within the next couple of weeks.
l
M U D N o . 1 6 D e v e l o p m e n t – Developer has agreed to the
City ’s proposal to withdraw its protest in exchange for a
commitment to negotiate in good faith when the property
is developed. This will allow the City to work toward
ensuring the development meets City standards despite
being outside city limits.
l
U D C U p d a t e - We held our final Technical Advisory
Committee meeting for the UDC update to review
comments and recommendations on the draft. There is still
work to be completed, we have reached an important
milestone and are still on track to finalize the UDC update
by February 2027.
l
D a t a C e n t e r D e v e l o p m e n t – There is a developer
interested in building a small data center on four acres of
the TVEC property along FM 741. Since the property is
outside city limits, our involvement would be limited to
platting. The facility would not require water or sewer
services, which is good news given our current
infrastructure challenges. The project is still in the early
stages, but I wanted to make Council aware of it.
l
R i v e r R i d g e P l a z a D e v e l o p m e n t - held a
preconstruction meeting for River Ridge Plaza, located
along Highway 175 behind QuikTrip. The development is
expected to include Starbucks and several smaller retail
businesses. The project is getting closer to construction
and will bring additional retail options to Crandall.
