TOWN OF PORT WASHINGTON
OFFICE OF THE CLERK
Official Minutes of the regular meeting of the Town of Port Washington Plan Commission held on
Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Town Hall, 3715 Highland Drive, Port Washington, WI.
Roll Call & Pledge of Allegiance
Present: Mike Didier, Greg Welton, Melissa Alexander, Mark Doll, Ed Potokar, Town Zoning
Administrator/Planner – Christy DeMaster, Clerk- Heather Krueger.
Excused: Chuck Baranek, Gary Schlenvogt
Public present: 3
Approval of June Plan Commission minutes. Alexander moved to approve the June Plan
Commission minutes, seconded by Potokar. The motion passed unanimously.
Public Comments:
Joel Kraft, 3757 County Road H; Expressed concerns regarding 1) Utility Company installing
cable on his property, not in the road right-of-way. 2) The information regarding water and sewer
coming to Knellsville is very vague. Per Didier, the city is working on surveying and creating
timelines and needs approval by the Public Service Commission. 3) Concerned with well water
for residents, because of the use from the Data Center. 4) Concerned about wetlands that are
now owned by the Data Center. There were no studies done by the EPA, and public comment
was not available.
Rebecca Kraft, 3757 County Road H: Concerned with the 2024 Comprehensive Plan. There is
a road scheduled to go through their property. DeMaster: Updates and changes may take place
as the town reviews the Comprehensive Plan.
Didier closed the public comments at 7:30 PM.
Correspondence/Reports from the previous month: Didier will be attending a meeting with the
city regarding sewer and water to determine timelines.
First Consideration of a Sign Permit application summitted by Gurtz Electric, 3830 County Road
H, Port Washington. Gurtz Electric would like approval for two wall signs, a monument sign in
front of the building and a pole sign to indicate the delivery entrance. Jaina Chiolero, Lighting
specialist with Gurtz Electric, explained the placement of the signs. Questions and concerns
regarding the amount of illimitation of the signs; the town code is unclear on restrictions.
Chiolero suggested performing a light study if necessary, or the lights can be put on a timer to
control the brightness. Alexander moves to move the Sign Permit application
submitted by Gurtz Electric to a second consideration pending the light
study, second by Doll. Motion passed unanimously.
Welton adjourned the July Plan Commission at 8:14 PM.
Heather Krueger, Clerk
